It's simply too awful for words...

Makes Memphis Belle and Pearl Harbor look like Oscar contenders for best documentary. Absolute rubbish~ :bs:

Just to clarify: this is NOT the upcoming Speilberg/Hanks project. And yes, it looks to be crap..a live-action comic book in the vein of "Red Tails."

Anybody know which B-17 was used for the interior shots? It's obviously a G with enclosed waist guns, the usual incomplete top turret, and an airstair door in back.

It's mighty something, all right...
Don't know about the movie, but I'd love to watch a re-enactment of the viewer comments...

Looks like a pretty good documentary to me. They even got the "no need for oxygen at altitude" correct. They weren't called the "Greatest Generation" for nothin....

Almost looks like George Lucas had found more World War II history to fill with bullstuff and lies such as was done with that Tuskegee Airmen BS movie.

It's not a trailer or teaser. It's a concept / demo reel.

As it says in the blurb, the script isn't final, and shooting has yet to begin. In fact, I would gander that most of the actors you see in that video aren't going to be in the film.

I'll reply with a similar statement to what I said about Pearl Harbor...
Yes, it's bad CGI...BUT anything that helps expose young people to what went on in the war can't be all bad.

How many HS kids have Roger Freeman's books? Not many. More kids know more about Ford Mustangs than the North American variety.
If you want the vet's story to continue, you have to expose young people to it. Any film that tells teenagers about Jimmy Doolittle is a good thing...even if he's played by Alec (nasty temper) Baldwin. And yes, George Lucas has to answer to for his historic liberties in Red Tails.
PH took liberties in the name of box office (young characters who managed to fly in the BoB and B-25s, sex and silly stunts)...Lucas took liberties in the name civil rights history. Both are less than ideal, but neither are surprising given Hollywood's track record with historical films and biographies.

I'd imagine a lot of new/young film makers make similar inexpensive "Demo" films to get studio or investor interest.
Cut them some slack...

I agree with this statement 100%! It does suck that it's so god awful and that they stole sounds effects from other movies, you can hear the radio sound that was in memphis belle as mother and country is going down when the camera guy walks into the raio room and sees the R/O laying there dead. Just before that the guy yelling mama, that from saving private ryan.
BUT, these movies are helping me to teach my kids about history conected to the airplanes they see at the airshows. Me and my two sons watched pearl harbor today. They were going going back and forth calling out the a/c types in the movie. They got a better idea of the history of the attack from this movie, and maybe, just maybe the interest in history will stay with them into adulthood. And for that, inacuracies in movies that give an idea of the history of the events depicted are worth it.

I'm glad my entire post was ignored.

THIS IS NOT A TRAILER OR A TEASER FOR THE MOVIE!

Guys, this was a concept reel done by one of the effects houses that is bidding to work on the film. I'm not sure who or why it was published because it's clearly stated as being a concept reel and I think it was unfair to everyone to release it because it is by design a rough cut of film that is missing many, many elements that would be in the final film.

However, if this is a concept film of how they plan to film this, I do notice that they're either filming inside a real B-17 of they've built a pretty good mockup of one because that's clearly a real airplane and not some plywood "look close" set. That's a major "done right" in my book because making a 100 plane formation is never going to happen so the least you can do is use a real fuselage for the interiors.

whether or not that concept is turned into a movie or not, that 3 minutes falls into the category of "things you can un-see" :vom:

Yeah, that was terrible. Never knew it was so quiet inside a B-17.
