Type 673 identification sought

Sat Dec 14, 2013 12:46 pm

Ha all,
Been a while since I posted here. Today someone showed up at the museum
with a piece of wreckage. It had been found on the Dutch beach after the recent
Storms.

No pics unfortunately, but it was a piece of leading edge with part of a rubber de- icing boot
Still present, next to it there was a section that had a large circular opening in the spar
That looked like sort of a landing lamp had been fitted. The noseribs had been pressed
With a similar set up as the B24. The rib nose flange had distinctive round folds in them to make the flange Fit in the eading edge. There were many blue ink stamped partnumbersc and a manufacturers stamp
This was triangular shape with what looked like the letter H in it. On several parts th type no 673 was
Found. The leading edge shroud has an olive drab colour. There were phillips screws in the shroud.

Any experts here that can help identify the type?

Cheers
Cees

Cees,

Your post is quite descriptive, looks to be less than a hundred words.

A picture on the other hand......
