1.3 million? That seems somewhat high for a B-25, isn't it? I mean, yes, it's awesome and beautiful, but 1.3 million?

The ad says it's the "most originally equipped B-25 flying". Nice airplane, no doubt ... but there might be some argument there.

I knew the owner and the guys /gals that took care of the plane. Mike P. will be missed, I sure hope the plane goes to a good home, keeps flying and the name remains the same. As for the price, I guess it all depends on what you want and can afford. As far as the most original B-25 flying? questionable but none the less, one of the most authentically outfitted of the B-25's on the airshow circuit.

wow as in, for $1.3 mil you would expect "0" SMOH on both, or just wow, the engine is doing well and should go another 1000 ? :-)

In case you missed it in the "Madras Airport getting crowded" thread: Jack Erickson's Tillamook/Madras Air Museum is the new owner of Heavenly Body and it was flown up to Madras over the weekend.

MY DAD FLEW IN THAT PLANE IN 1943-45 WITH THE 390TH BOMB SQUADRON 42ND BOMB WING IN NEW GUINEA. I HAVE PHOTO'S OF THE ORIGINAL PLANE AND OTHERS ONE IS NAMED" QUEENIE" AND ALL THE CREW. BUT I'M GLAD SHE IS STILL FLYING AND IN GOOD HANDS. :)

For $1.3 million, I'd expect to have Dolittle's finger prints on the control wheel. :)

radarman67, do you have a photo of this one? I've wondered if it had a name on the other side.

Not to be a spoiler, but please do realize that the actual aircraft is not the one that is represented in those markings. In other words, the current "Heavenly Body" was never in combat, only having served in stateside units during the War. She is painted in those markings to represent that particular combat aircraft.

Regardless of all that, we here on WIX would love to see any wartime photos of your Dad and/or his plane that you feel comfortable sharing with us.

Welcome to WIX! :)
