I received a question about the F-9 displayed on the Lexington...
Aerial Visuals - Airframe Dossier - GrummanF9F/F-9 Panther/Cougar, s/n 147276 USN
...and the question is...
I am trying to trace the identity of a F-9 on display at the Corpus Christi marina in Oct 1991. The aircraft wore no marks. I wondered if it was potentially the F-9 now at USS Lexington Museum Corpus Christi?
Can anyone here answer this question?
Mike
P.S. If anyone has a more current photo I would appreciate an upload via the link above.

The one on the lexington came from the museum in pensacola. I think it was a former blue angel #7. The one on the T-heads was scrapped a long time ago if I remember correctly.

I remember playing around the one displayed on the T-Heads when I was a kid. If I recall correctly, it was displayed with the nose in the air with the tail fairly low to the ground. I remember brushing up against it and had rusted metal bits all over my arm. With its exposure to the salt spray, it is no surprise it got scrapped.
Cool memory!
