The B-18's role in history is a cautionary tale of the dangers of procuring a fiscally expedient weapons system versus purchasing a better, but more expensive, weapons system. Had the Air Corps purchased B-17s as it wanted, instead of the B-18s the GHQ foisted upon it, we may have been in a bit better position to "hit back" once we were drawn into the war. Granted the early model B-17s were obsolete, but at least they weren't as useless as the B-18 in an offensive role. The B-18 did fine as an anti-sub plane in the early days of the war, but that was about it.

I'll "post on" until I either get Bored (sometimes), Burned out (close) , Banned (again) ... or someone pisses me off (causing me to get banning ... again!) lol
Until then sorry you're stuck with me for a little while longer. Just don't rat me out to my sister, she thinks I've lost my mind a long time ago by still playing around here. (which I think she's right!)
