Butch Voris Airport

In a time when our society seems to honor people for all the wrong reasons please consider the following.
We can't allow that generations sacrifices to fade into history.

The Chairman of the Airport Authority in Monterey has launched a campaign to name the Monterey Airport in honor of Butch. He is soliciting letters from supporters of Butch to back up his efforts. I have attached his request as well if you feel you would like to drop him a line. Feel free to pass any or all of this along.

Dear Friends of Butch Voris

I will be introducing a resolution before the Monterey Peninsula Airport Board of Directors, during the next couple of months, to rename Monterey Airport:

The Monterey Peninsula Airport -- Butch Voris Field

I have the support of Butch's family and many of his friends with whom I've had personal contact. What I need is to muster massive support for the name change.

How can that be done?

Send the proverbial cards, letters, faxes, phone calls to:

Mr. Thomas Greer CDR. R.W. Phoebus, USN (Ret)

General Manager OR Chairman, Board of Directors

Please ask Greer to share you letter with the Board members.

Feel free to discuss any part of Butch's lifetime achievement that helps illustrate why we think this is a worthy goal. Remember, Butch was a "local boy" not just someone who chose to retire in this beautiful area. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE E-MAILS YOU SHOULD PASS ON !!!! Call your friends as well !!

With your support we can make this tribute to Butch Happen.
