Today Five P-51 Mustang are Expected at The CAF Dixie Wing

Fri Apr 18, 2014 8:10 am

Five P-51 Mustangs will be arriving at Falcon Field to participate in a flyover to honor the life of Ed Bowlin, who passed away on March 7, 2014.

Yesterday two Mustangs arrived: "Old Crow" (, and "Gentleman Jim." "Ain't Misbehaving", " Petie II" and "Swamp Fox" are due to arrive today.

Tomorrow, Saturday between 5-6 p.m., all the Mustangs will be departing Falcon Field to fly to Peach State Airport for the missing man flight.

If you can stop in at the CAF Dixie Wing at Falcon Field, you will see an amazing sight - all these amazing P-51s here.

Some background on Mr. Bowlin -

Wish I was there!

Better yet, I was talking to Bob "Punchy" Powell today...he sent his regrets to Connie about not being able to attend due to the fact he can't be away from the house with his wife's illness. Too bad we can't get a helo or a Spit to fly Bob down and back really quick from PDK.... :spit
