Sun Oct 23, 2005 10:46 pm

F8F-1 data plate for auction on eBay -- ending Oct 30th.

Summary: Buno 94757 (c/n 29) assigned to VF-19. According to Joe Baugher, this aircraft crashed into the barrier on USS Corregidor on 8/30/45. My father never flew this buno, but was a pilot assigned to the squadron.

It's not showing up for me yet on search. I'll post a link as soon as it shows up for me. At the moment, a search for F8F yields nothing...of course eBay always says "it may take a few minutes for your listing to show up."

The item number is 6572762832. I'll give you a link when I find it.

This plate is different to the ones i have access to.

The grumman badge in the centre is black not in colour.

The reproduction ones sold by jay wisler look similar to this but are much

crisper in detail

And just to finish the story, the data plate (F8F-1 cn 29, buno 94757) sold for $395 on eBay.
