Two hundred fifty bucks? I can give them that in cash RIGHT NOW... might take a while to get the shipping sorted out though!

I'm going to guess they left some zeroes off of that ad. Very cool to see another potential Ki 61 restoration out there!

About time a KI-61 gets back into the air. We'll need one next time Hollywood wants to do another Doolittle Raider movie. Maybe a remake of 30 Seconds over Tokyo?

Wasn't somebody in Australia working on one or two of these? I remember reading something about it years ago but haven't heard anything since. I did find this after a brief search. Still a few years out of date.

well, at least thanks to Mike Nichols

, and the late great Frank Tallman

, there is well over a squadron available for employment over CGI, It would be wonderful to have another squadron in a movie

Much as I'd like a Ki61 project, if I had a spare $250K to spend I'd be sending every cent of it to Precision Aerospace and actually buy parts which could be used in a project rather than a pile of exfoliation. Where an airframe such as this is a sole reference for a rebuild in the absence of any available new material it would be worth having, but when the tooling already exists to produce complete new airframes, I'd spend my money on metal that can actually be used.

But what about that old saying, "If it ain't corroding, I ain't going!". I think that was it......

250 bucks must be a mistake. you couldn't get 250 rivets for that piece of toast at that price, let alone all the other components & shipping to the u.s., the tony is one of the most beautiful lined warbirds period!!
