Help me save a F-86H cockpit

I am not one to ask anything of anybody but I could sure use some help. I am looking for anyone that would be interested in helping me save a F-86H cockpit section. I need to raise $4500+ to get it home, where I would restore it and take it to events so children and folks can look at it and sit in the cockpit and learn the history of the F-86. This is my only chance of ever getting something like this. I have been hopelessly collecting F-86 parts in hope maybe someday I can build up a display. Just not sure yet what it might be, but Im thinking a F-86 plaque or something.

Wow, looks like a nice find Nathan. I wish you success! Have you considered a kickstarter or similar type of fundraising campaign? Based on what you've said that may be the way to go.

Interesting... an early "H" with the six .50s instead of the four cannons. Good luck with the project!

I doubt I'll be getting it. Just trying to make an effort and things are looking south. The guy was going to deliver it for me. It's currently in Oklahoma and I live in Pa. The guy is going to give me a quote soon for the transport.

You're going about this the wrong way with the Mrs....Use the midlife crisis as your cover:

"Look honey, most guys at this point in their life go out and buy an expensive sports car and start hanging out with women 20 years younger than them. All I want is to buy and restore the cockpit section of an F-86"

Substitute "cockpit section of an F-86" with "go work with a bunch of old guys restoring aircraft" and that's how I sold it to Mrs. Saxman. Of course, the plane was up in Pennsylvania and not in my garage.

She'll do that at some point no matter what. Feed the kids, pay the bills, and if there is enough left over then buy your airplane.
