Indianapolis Warbird Activities

Wed Jun 23, 2004 2:57 am

Well, I am now in Indianapolis, and will check my book on aviation sites to visit. I have tagged the Fi-103 location and will go visit as soon as I have a day off.

Is there anything else that is remarkable and worth seeing? Warbirds, gate guardians, and so on? Even junked and derelict warbirds, of course!

Saludos,

Tulio

About an hour north of Indy is the Grissom museum.

I'm about 1 hour and 50 minutes south east from Indy, and I have Marine's Dream and the POF P-38 in a nice hangar as our home base this year.

Thank you, guys!

As soon as I have a work schedule worked out, I will plan trips out. I will contact you, Mint, in case you are at your home base one of those days, and we'll take it from there.

Saludos!

Thank you, Scott.

I appreciate the data you so kindly found.

I happen to have with me, my Museum book, too so it won't be necessary for you to send me addresses or directions.

Yesterday, I went to see the memorial to the crew of the USS Indianapolis.

Tulio,
If you get the chance, drive 65 miles south on the Interstate 65 to Seymour and visit the Freeman Field museum. You can see all the stuff we dug out of the ground down there. Lots of German aircraft parts that were buried there after the war.
