Northwest Helicopters - The Rest of the Story

Tue Jul 29, 2014 10:15 pm

A little over a year ago I posted an article about my visit to Northwest Helicopters in Olympia, Washington. My main reason or the visit was to see a Huey that was in my unit in Vietnam (116th Aviation Company-Assault Helicopter based at CuChi). I was in maintenance assigned to a 100 hour inspection team. I don't know for sure but the odds are very good that I worked on it some 44 years ago.
Thanks to WIX's Brad I was able to examine and climb into it again-brought back some memories. At the time I was allowed to take pictures of it, and was asked not to put them on the internet as it and another Huey going to be used a project. The project had to do with the movie X-Men which was released in mid June. I was given the OK from Brad last month that I can post the pictures, so here they are.
Except for the missing gun-mounts and 116th markings it looks the same as I remembered
