VT-87 Markings

Wed Sep 17, 2014 11:35 am

I am looking for photographs of TBM Avengers of VT-87 while onboard USS Ticonderoga in 1945. We want to honor one of our late members of CAF-Missouri Wing, Joe Baruzinni by putting the correct markings on our TBM.

Your very welcome and best of luck with your tribute to Mr. Joe Baruzinni. He earned it for sure.

Sorry I know your looking for Avenger photos only but the schemes are very much the same on all the air group aircraft. So here's a few more

Does anyone know what the squadron name was, I mean what they called themselves? I.E VF-17 was the 'Jolly Rogers'.

I don't recall off hand if any of the groups in CVG-87 had a name. See what I can find for you though. Here's some additional information.

It looks like the narrow V markings were the latter ones instead of the solid inverted pyramid?
