The Cavanaugh Flight Museum will be hosting the final reunion of the Flying Tigers Sept 26-27. We will also be hosting a P40 gathering as part of our "Fall Fly Days" Sept 27-28. We have invited 9 P40s and have heard positive feedback from 7. This could be the most P40s in one place in 40 years. Flying Legends will be bring 2 P40s, Zero, TBM. CAF's P40, a couple of Mustangs for the fun of it. It will all be in conjunction with the "Pontiac Southern National" car show.
There will be a luncheon at the museum Friday, Sept. 26. Starting at 10:30, with a P40 flyover around noon. Several honored guests and speakers will be present. We have a limited number of seats available for the luncheon, but anyone can come out to see the P40s and the flyover.
Saturday, Sept. 27, the museum will again host the Pontiac Southern Nationals car show. GTOs and more “Muscle Cars” will be on display. There will be a mass P40 departure around 11:30 for a flyover at Love Field with a return around 1:30. We will have the usual cast of pilots and ground support putting on displays of the aircraft and the Sherman Tank demonstration. Plenty to see and do. Sunday will be another “Fly Days” event with the “American Classic Car Show”.
