Air Search Radar at USS Alabama

Fri Oct 03, 2014 1:31 pm

When the Alabama came to Mobile in 1964 her air search radar antenna still revolved.
The radar didn't work the antenna still rotated. Lightning killed it long ago. Last month
a restoration project was completed and the dish spins once more. Alabama's heart now
beats again, she is alive...............

Cool! I always love to see anything historical continue to function. That seems to keep it more alive and with us longer.
