Honestly, I wish they could have taken all the money spent on that recovery to buy/con/whatever the A-20 sitting in Russia.

Tom, I would agree with you if the salvage would result in something positive. In my most humble opinion I don't think this recovery will do that. Nothing of those remains are salvageable/useable or would even make a somewhat interesting display. Now, if it was the only one in existance, yes a recovery and display would be appropriate, no matter how bad of condition the remains are in. Financial help is hard to get these days, and I just believe there are other birds out there that money spent on them would bring better results.
