Greeting my little test subjects....

I am working on a project that has been in the works for awhile now and I have finally got around to figuring out the technology to make it work. I am developing a sort of walk around for an aircraft (the test subject is the Collings Avenger since I have rediculous amounts of photos of it) It is in Beta at the moment but I want you, my merry band of enthusiasts, to check it out, critique it, let me know if you have problems with it, make suggestions and such, the Beta is not public yet and is only accessible through this link

The main hot spots are the turrets, the tail wheel and the tail hook. More will of course be added if this test is successful. You will also be able to chacge your viewpoint in the next version and in future versions you will be able to get into the rear fuselage.. So check it out and let me know what you think.

Works fine for me!. I would love a good look at the wing fold mechanism and the accessorys on the back of the engine. But thats just me, some sort of engineering pervert!!!.

Thanks Cking, I will see if I have some pictures of the wing fold mechanism. As for the accessories, I will keep my eye open for them. I can always add more items as they become available.

Thanks, I plane on collecting much greater detail shots in the future. I have quite a few for that Avenger and will be adding them as time goes on. Now that I have the technique figured out (tried to avoid having to use flash or other plug ins) I will look at doing this for as many aircraft as I can before I go completely insane (which is why I switch bewteen projects for the site, to keep from going nuts)

Scott I really love the idea. I agree with a few previous posts. I think one idea would be to have a profile shot, then a front and a rear shot with the highlights. Then you could do the gear bays, the retraction mechanisms, the prop, the cowl flaps, the gun bays, bomb bays, missle rails, drop tank rails, torpedo rails, etc. Could also have the mechanisms for the flaps, ailerons, elevator, and rudder. What I mean by the last is how they are controlled, ie push rod, cable, etc.

Maybe even an over head shot of some kind would be good.

Great job so far. Looking forward to seeing your next version.

Just another thought, you could take some of the most obvious "what the heck is that" parts and put a brief description and the location for those people who really want to impress their girlfriends! Sort of like that P-40 coolant port that I just learned about a few days ago.

Make sure you close the close-up window before clicking on another area or the window will drop behind your browser and the next time you click it will go to the closeup window Behind your browser.

I will try and add more and more detail shots as I sort through photos. I have alot of detail photos of the bomb bay and will expand that section soon. I also intend on having it set up so you could virtually climb into the aircraft. We'll have to see how that goes.

thats a good idea, and I'll see about implementing some of that on version 1.2
