F4U-4 for Egress Training.... What color would it be?

Hi Guys,
Me again. Just came across this photo a few months ago and was curious as to what color it would be? I would assume standard Dk. Sea Blue, but would it?

It just looks like weathered (flat) Glossy Sea Blue to me. Absent further evidence, that's what I'd assume it is.

It's properly my eyes, but does the Windshield & Canopy look "early" Corsair ? Boy! That poor thing 's missing A lot of Bones!!

The early F4U-4's were fitted with essentially the same windscreen as the -1D series. They went to the flat windscreen later in the production run.

As for the color, my guess would also be weathered glossy sea blue, or possibly some spare flat sea blue, as it appears it was repainted to remove all signs of previous insignia. Man it sure looks like they sprayed the entire plane without masking anything!

I'd guess color would be whatever they had in the paint locker. No requirement to meet a certain spec. Agree it looks like a casually painted bird.

So, was bailout taught to go over the port rail if possible, does prop wash make port side preferred?
