Sweet looking plane - too bad the stars were aligned against it (competition and politics), and its career cut short - DBR when it hit a cement truck on landing.

Sure was a surprise to me that the Italians were still flying P-38s in '54 (and looking further, SB2C Helldivers into '58!).
