Three countries, 1 Typhoon

Wed Jan 14, 2015 6:38 am

Had a good visit to Canada from Australia over Christmas, and one highlight was meeting up with two old friends - one from the RAF Museum in the UK, and upgraded with rockets and loaned to the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, Rockliffe, Ottawa, being the sole-surviving Hawker Typhoon; the other being Mike Henniger, thankfully not needing an upgrade and even better to catch up with - a trip highlight, even if only (too) briefly.

I'm the tall one without rockets. Pic by Mrs JDK.

Great picture.

It's been about 10 years since I saw that Typhoon, but I do recall the last time I was at RAF Hendon how I kept coming back to it over and over again. There is just something very impressive and powerful about it.
