The following lists are of aircraft that were offered through the DOD Surplus Catelog venue. These military aircraft remains are essentually broken up scrap - not being offered as a possible flyer. I thought maybe those WIX members that are looking for a souvenir or are parts collectors may find the lists useable. Edit: Looked through Baugher with "Chanute" as a keyword, and several B-25s were listed as reclaimed, or "reclamation complete" - but none later than 1951.

The chopper was completely stripped, looks like bird had struck ground right forward skid first, then helicopter rolled over crushing cabin. I understand there were 3 casualties. I managed to save wrecked tail cone and blades, not much else. Army Serial no. 38828. (ed. note: 63-8828, c/n 4120 - not mentioned in Baugher)

Both photos were taken 1 Jan 1974...I had an opportunity to try and rescue the remains early in
1974. Weather and lack of equipment and problems in breaking down aircraft forced me to abandon attempt. It took more than a year later for Cutlass to show up on DOD bid. My understanding was Navy tried to knock down Cutlass with bulldozer, but only proceeded to wreck all surfaces. BuNo Is 129679

Very mangled remains of T-33A 52-9406; millionmonkeytheater.com lists it as "written off at NAS Glenview" on February 21, 1975. According to Leon, "The bird supposedly flamed out and pilots ejected safely, with them landing in either Wisconsin or Illinois, with the jet crashing in opposite state."
