Harland Aveizze's PT-23 ON SKIS!

Something you don't see everyday!

Harland Avezzie has been working on this for a year or so and yesterday he did some taxi tests with his PT-23 on restored Federal Aircraft Works Snow skis!
They are the 10th set of only 41 built for use on Fairchild PT-19, 23, and 26's. He has only found one photo of a set on a PT from back in the 1940's.
Test flight will have to wait for less snow!!!! Hopefully I will be there to get some A2A pics and some video of it!

I get chills just looking at those photos - Down here in Pa, not much difference in temps I guess. A2A's will be great. Jerry - maybe find another open
cockpit plane to shoot from, ey? Rugged men up there in NE.

Interesting way the photo distorted the prop, which had to have been turning at the time, I assume?

I'm not THAT hardy Mark! Give me an e closed cockpit in the winter! TBF is still slowly moving along. He's doing lots of turrets.

Good stuff, Jerry! Does Harland have the photos of the TBM I took at Glenview after it was recovered? I can forward the files if he wants.
