The current issue of Air Classics brings readers uptodate on current restorations at the Pacific Aviation Museum in Hawaii. I thought I would share the info with everyone. Combat veteran F4C 64-792 named "Smoothie" has been refinished with it's original paint scheme and F-100F 58-1232 has also been refinished in the colors it wore when it was conducting Wild Weasel missions in Vietnam. The museum is currently working on a Cessna O-2A Skymaster and a C-47 Skytrain. Finally news that WIX'rs will like to hear, the B-17 "Swamp Ghost" as everyone here knows has been sitting outside since it's arrival at the museum. Within the next several months this B-17 will be brought inside and displayed in unrestored condition.

Is the Zero wreckage from the island still on display?
I got the book for Christmas and in it the author said it might be removed because one woman thought it reflected poorly on Japanese-Americans (because a local man of Japanese ancestry helped the pilot).
