Photo of D-Day Dottie??

Fri Nov 18, 2005 10:47 am

Greetings all, last weekend while flying Liberty Belle @ Augusta, we met a former F/E top turrett veteran who flew 26 missions in "D-Day Dottie" assigned to the 401st BG. He would like to find a photo of the airplane. I've researched my B-17 books, as well as Vallant's '89 edition of "Vintage Aircraft Nose Art", and Gary Velasco's "Fighting Colors". No luck.
I'm sure he would be grateful if a picture could be found. Maybe someone here can locate one.

Thanks,
Bob

Visit this Post on Face Book 401st Group https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10201734188108662&set=gm.755042967863122&type=1&relevant_count=1. We are currently not able to say for sure this is a photo of one of our aircraft. We are hoping that the person who flew an aircraft by this name can identify that this is that plane by looking at the Nose Art.

We did have conformation from one of the crew members that this is our 401st Bomb Group B-17 D-Day Dottie.
