Refrubished Nikon Camera?

Thu Apr 16, 2015 2:54 pm

Hello,
I'd like to upgrade my current Nikon camera and I was looking at a refrubished D5200. Does anyone have any experience buying factory refrubished cameras? Are there any vendors you would recommend?
Thanks very much
Rick

Have purchased numerous from Canon, never really had an issue. Sometimes the delta between the two is not that great of a saving however as tax may or may not be involved.

Depends on how much and how hard you plan to use your camera. Just the occasional usage, I'd say go for it. Otherwise I'd buy new. It's not that big of price difference. I did buy a refurbished Nikon Speedlight 700 from an ebay seller. It looked brand new and had all the accessories in factory bags. I got it for around 1/2 the cost of a new one. So far so good.

I never purchased a factory refurb. I know one guy that did and liked it. I have a D5200....it has some nice features. I wouldn't mind upgrading some lenses but that will have to wait. I'm still learning the ropes.

This is a distance pic with various colors on a cloudy day and stock lens....18-55 I think it is.

A bird of a different feather.....not a pelican, condor, goose, duck or widgeon. Sunny day with a 55-300. I like wildlife pics.
