Anybody have an RB-66 Checklist or a model of one?

Sun May 17, 2015 5:33 pm

I have a friend who is looking for an RB-66 model and/or a checklist for an RB-66.
His buddy flew them and he's trying to get him something. Any clues would be appreciated!
Thanks.
Jerry

Tbere might be a solid wood desktop model of some sort out there. The only B-66 model kit I'm aware of is a 1/72 kit from Italeri (also reboxed by Testors.) I don't know if it's currently in production. There was also a 1/48 vacu-form kit, but I doubt you want to deal with that.

Allyn made a 1/48th scale all metal desk model (as they did for many Douglas products...including a 1/72 DC-6/C-118, C-133, C-124).
I had one as a kid...I have parts somewhere in the house.

Also, Monogram made a "fit the box" scale B-66 back in the 50s...it had a button on top that allowed you to drop a bomb. Should be easy to find.
Also, Monogram had a 1/240th scale B-66 as part of their Airpower Collection set. IIRC, It was also rereleased with 2 other bombers. Both are pretty rare and expensive now.

Finally, Comet had a nice 1/130th scale ( about 6 inches long) B-66 kit. You see them on ebay frequently.

Seems like Aurora made a box scale B-66 but I won't swear to it.
