Golden Age Air Museum Flying Circus I 2015

For those of you that haven't heard of it, There is a great little museum in Bethel Pennsylvania Called the Golden Age Air Museum.
While our shows are not all "Warbirds" we have a nice collection of WW1 replicas including a Sopwith Pup, A LeRhone powered Fokker Dr. 1, one of the Slingsby built WW1 Rumpler replicas (built for a movie that wasn't finished, "Biggles Sweeps the Skies")
AND An authentic restored original Curtiss JN-4 Jenny (restoration by the golden Age Air Museum Staff finished July 2009)
IN the works is a SPAD 13 replica
At any rate here are some photos from this past Saturday!

Great pics! Thanks for posting them! I gotta get there one day soon. Stopped in once but it was a Monday and it was closed.

Lovely photos! I watched a video from Russell Smith of the Dr.I starting before I came to work. GAAM is definitely on my bucket list.

Looks terrific. I haven't seen a Pup or a rotary Dr.I in the air since the 1970s at Rhinebeck, and those are both beauties. I am another one who has dropped by randomly and found the place buttoned up. What goes on there on a typical summer weekend?

We're there on every weekend from May through the end of October so stop by any time!
Here' A little more background about Golden Age Air Museum.
We're a group of folks that grew up around airplanes, many of us at some point visiting the "holy land of antique airplanes" Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. GAAM founded and headed up by Paul Dougherty Jr. is about a dream he had and we all share of restoring and flying WW1 and golden age airplanes.
Cole Palen's ORA lit that spark in us as youngsters an ember that glowed brightly which resulted in the Golden Age Air Museum.
In true Cole Palen tradition starting with Paul Dougherty Jr. and his father Paul Dougherty Sr. working in a basement on a shoestring budget, began to restore and build antique airplanes. When the collection got too large, Paul purchased Grimes airfield and the rest is history! Through the years those of us on the all volunteer staff have added our time and talents. In the ensuing 20 years Paul and the staff have expanded the collection to 33 airplanes and 4 antique cars. We have restored, repaired and built this collection of airplanes over 20 years. Airplanes Spanning 1916-1949.
This is in some ways a formal thank you to all of the photographers friends and museum supporters who have donated time, money blood sweat and tears to help the museum become what it is today!
