Ground support equip control panel....maybe?Can anyone help?

Thu Jul 16, 2015 10:32 pm

Hiya,
Ok, another random object query from me. (My last one that I thought might be landing gear was a wheelbarrow wheel, so please forgive me in advance).
This one is again from a cache of dumped WWII materiel outside an RAAF base in Darwin Harbour, Northern Territory - mainly PBY Cat base with attached RAAF Marine Section. It's a mystery engine control panel of some description - it's heavy cast aluminium with a water temp gauge and what I think is oil pressure gauge, with room for a third gauge that is now missing. Also has a RUN / STOP switch in lower right and a push button switch in upper left. And has a part / model number "5175513" embossed on underside.
Possible IDs for this one have ranged from aircraft APU control panel, marine vessel console to stationary engine or some sort of ground support equipment control panel.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I would very much appreciate any help at all.
(scale in photos is in 50 mm bars)
Thanks again!
Caroline.

I don't recognize it, but the water temp gauge does point to some kind of support or industrial machinery.

Is there a manufacturer's name visible on the face of the gauges? "Smiths" would point to a UK or Commonwealth origin, as would "WD", "AM" or any Broad Arrows
