Surviving ROKAF F-51D / TF-51D - new information/request

Mon Dec 05, 2005 8:58 am

Hello folks

further to a very interesting correspondence with a Taiwan based photographer, I can report that in S. Korea the number of surviving ROKAF F-51D & TF-51D airframes is greater than commonly known !
I also am happy to report that I have managed to purchase a number of slides from this photographer, showing some of these airframes (the slides are in transit so please be patient  ).

Aircraft 669 at Goseung (TF-51D - formerly was at Seoul)
Aircraft 053 at Chongju (TF-51D)
Aircraft 205 at Seoul (F-51D)
Aircraft 030 at Muan (TF-51D)

All the above have recently been photographed.

There also are very promising reports of two, possibly three more surviving airframes in S. Korea; my contact will try to ferret them out on one of his next trips. He also asks for any and all information that could assist him/us in finding these ships.

Research as to the locations, USAAF serials, etc. is ongoing - I will keep you posted.
All help is highly appreciated.
