Not bad... I've certainly seen worse P-51 replicas. As to the actors, again, not bad- looks like the prop department made up a bunch of replica QAS harnesses, and the pilots are wearing what look like CWU-27/P suits which, if you squint just right, looks kind of like the late war K-1 suit.

I wonder if a subtitled version of the film will be available?

Thanks for sharing this!

Doesn't look like it to me. The collars and shoulders don't look like modern Nomex patterns at all to me.
But then again the photos are pretty small to pick out strong detail. But I'd bet 5 bucks those aren't 27s...

You're probably right- I'm not fully up on my postwar US suits, I was just going by the slash zippers on the chest. What was the common one in Vietnam, the K-2B? Now that I think about it, there's probably more than a few of those floating around in Asia, probably not hard to come by over there and they have that same pocket pattern.

Thanks for the redirect! :)

Cheers,

The chutes look more like QAC (chest) with the two D-rings on the front for the "quick attachment".

There are no risers attached to the rear of the harness and it appears they just tacked some clips onto the waistband to connect a seat pack.

If you deployed a seat pack with this rig you'd land face first.

One pilot has a USAAF meatball insignia on the left shoulder of his B-10 jacket.

You guys are right on the chute harnesses. Those are very odd for fighter applications.
The jackets are a B-15 variant of some kind, note the slash pockets. B-10s have big patch pockets with buttons on the flaps.

Great looking replicas in my opinion. Wonder where the two full scale mockups will end up?

Ah..that answers my question: I was wondering about the use of the Nationalist "sunburst" insignia in a movie made in Communist China.

I take it the title "a touch of green" refers to the inaccurate paint on the inside of the gear doors?

Good point, China probably wouldn't make a movie about the KMT or Taiwanese military effort.
