Las Cruces, NM

Fri Dec 09, 2005 11:32 pm

Way too early in the AM, and oh-so-dark for any good photography, I briefly stopped at the Las Cruces NM airport.

You all know about the F-100D there, serving as a monument.

There were, behind some airplanes, and difficult to see, a Douglas A-26 and a Lockheed Twin (Possibly a Harpoon??)

Then this morning, at Odessa, TX the T-33 sitting atop a pole, at the Schlemeyer airport.

Tomorrow, the CAF and the Ranger engine . . .

Tulio have you been to War Eagles at Santa Teresa NM outside of El Paso. If you have I must have missed it.

Rick:

Good morning!

No, I have not been there yet.

The plan was to go with Dave Allyn [who flew DC-4Ms for Cavalier Aircraft) back in October, but time constraints brought the trip to a halt.

This trip, when I drove through Las Cruces, I briefly considered going to Santa Teresa, but it was 0200 and I would have had to wait for over 7:00 hours and still had a long way to drive, so I decided . . . next time : )

Saludos,

Tulio
