This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I watched a couple of Periscope videos from the Pacific Aviation Museum on Monday April 18th where they announced that they have a Japanese Kate torpedo bomber and will be restoring it to static display. Lots of pieces still missing and they are looking for anyone with Kate pieces to contact them. Major parts still missing include the engine and prop, outboard wing and fuselage from cockpit back to tail. In the video you could still see the Hinomaru on the wing and they showed where pieces had been cut away from the plane. The Kate was being shown in front of their B-17E Swamp Ghost.
Here is a website with some information on it:

Very interesting news for a very rare plane. If not mistaken, this one would be the only one on display anywhere.
Wonder from where/who they got it from. Any idea/info anyone?

It worries me that they are going to damage what they have in order to replicate it to make what is basically an all new aircraft. Surely the skins and bones that are left now will be treated as decently as possible so that they will be able to display them as well at some point in the future. Surely they're not going to trash all that original body work and skin?
