B-24 H Panel

Tue Apr 19, 2016 11:40 am

This section of B-24H is completely missing part numbers.

The only manufacture markings on it are what I suspect are either Tulsa or Heat Treatment stamps.

This is from a Douglas Tulsa made machine 42-51107 that crashed after flak damage.

With the curve in the panel this box (?) must have been used upright.

The exterior is painted with silver paint on chromate green primer.

Can anyone confirm where in the fuselage this piece comes from ?

My best guess without looking would be the engine cowlings

Well done that Man - exactly right - one of the upper engine cowls - as matching with the structure and rivets etc on this image
