About the T-34, ...I can understand your confusion...a Navy "B" paint scheme (color, tail letters, nose prop warning stripe)..but
USAF titles. USAF T-6Gs were yellow in the early 50s, but not T-34s

Also, the star & bar looks oddly proportioned.
Hopefully in the quarter century since the photo was taken it's received a new paint job.

Very nice photos. To a layman like me the T-34 looks just fine in this picture -- I care a lot more about the flying than the stencils and such. We want more, Bill...

Great thread, I still hungry for Fried Catfish tonight and free drinks and BBQ tomorrow night. Those were the times. Even like last night, we had the thunderstorms from the past here. One year they shorted the Sunday show because a level 5 storm was coming with a nader. The Army Cav took off in there Cobra only to return in a heavy rain because of really bad weather. Steve Rister drove to Midland and had to stop at a gas station on 20 because the telephone poles were half as tall as they used to be. Really have to like the spring storms here in Texas...

Great shots of Howard. You sure were able to shoot close to the runway there. That really makes a difference.

I used to sit on the taxi way signs and shoot away. All that changed when uncle sugar arrived...

I would like to get the full ID of this T-34. I will be grateful for any info.

Bill,

The T-34 was previously N-5157V. It was then purchased by Bill Stuesy (West Houston Squadron, CONFEDERATE Air Force) who re-registered it as N134BS; and upon Bill's passing, it was bought by my buddy Craig Mueller, who is still the owner.

The airplane was for some time based at Sport Flyers in Brookshire, TX and has been for a couple of years at least, at the Houston South West airport in Arcola.
