Shame that they aren't offering passenger rides (I'm guessing that she's not rated to do so).
Wonder what my late father would think about it, as he used to ride for free as passenger (although I guess you could say that he technically got paid, being he was on duty) in the Mars back in the day while flying out from California to Hawaii. Said it was a great ride, with lots of personal attention from Navy nurses acting as stewardesses, and that they served the best hot chocolate he ever had anywhere in his life.

The Marine Corps gave me a free ride from Alameda to Hawaii in Jan 1951 enroute to Korea. Long time ago. Flew so slow we could open a window in one area and throw trash out. About 12 hours if I remember right.

Yep. Saw it arrive over the field in very marginal VFR, circle once, then land.
It is one of those airplanes which gives the illusion of moving very slow...

At one point over the Rockies they were ripping along at 225 kts ground speed according to the flight tracking. As for the inclement weather, they have the IFR avionics to deal with it.

Coulson spent $3m on that. No joke is right. I'm not aware of any other air tankers that are that advanced.
