CAF P-38L - Registration Reservation

The CAF P-38L N5596V has had the registration N7723C reserved on 27 Dec 2005

Does this mean they will be getting a P-38 soon? Hmmmmmmm..

The P-38L in question is 44-26981, N5596V. It is the former Junior Burchinal, John Silberman, William Lyons, David Price/Museum of Flight Lightning. The current registered owner is Vintage Fighters LLC of Corona Del Mar, CA. I believe the owner is Mr. Jack Croul. See a recent issue of either Air Classics or Warbirds International for current photos of and information concerning this aircraft. This is the P-38 that was to have been traded to the CAF in return for their P-82 Twin Mustang. This deal is now dead and the P-38 is back with Mr. Croul. It appears that he is just changing the civil registration from N5596V to N7723C. Todd
