Jacky's Revenge P-47D update

Sun Dec 04, 2016 5:44 pm

I was wondering if anyone out there has heard anything about this aircraft? Last time I heard anything it was in Delaware? For further investigation. There are conflicting reports about the future of this a/c, whether it would be restored or not. Thanks for info.

May be tied up with the insurance company. Hopefully some preservation efforts were made with the airframe.

Reportedly the power loss was from a failed cylinder. I'm curious what the nature of the cylinder problem was.

No word yet? Really hope she isn't scrapped. Still wondering what happened to Baranaska's P-40.

Why would the aircraft be scrapped?

There has been contradicting internet reports of static, flyer, or even scrapping the p-47. I can't imagine why it would even be a thought to scrap it. I am under the impression that p-40 is still at the bottom of the LI sound

Because that was written into a news story about the salvage that has probably been rehashed over and over. So either the reporter or the Corps of Engineers doesn't know much about vintage aircraft.

I was told what didn't wash up on shore is still down there.
