Status of the site

Hi all,

Sorry to be doing such a poor job communicating but time is something I have little of lately. Between work schedule as well as health and family issues have left my available time at a minimum.

With that said I am trying to get through the backlog of e-mails and PM's as well as trying to teach myself some advanced coding that will hopefully allow me to finish Version 5 of the site code. I am also researching the prospect of changing hosting services for WIX. Performance issues as well as a dead end as far as software updates have left me in a quandary. The site revenue does not support the advancement of the site to a private server so I am considering switching hosting services to one that would support the software upgrade.

I will try and get through the e-mail's and PM's as soon as I can. Please note. If you have sent me an e-mail, please make sure that *@warbirdsresourcegroup.org is on your e-mail software white list. I'm getting about a 25% bounce rate on my replies because of anti-spam software.

Thought for the day. Spammers should be burnt with fire.

Scott, are there any other mods we can notify in the meantime to save you work? Still need to get rid of amish119.

The best suggestion I could make, to severely curtail the spam, is go to modereated post for the first 5-10 posts for new users. I've seen it done on other boards and spam become a non thing very quick. It would definately cut down on moderator time too. Also taking a look at new user profiles prior to them being allowed to post would help too when they spam their own profile.

Another thought is that is probably time to walk through the account list and kill off the ones that have never posted and/or have not listed anything within their profile that shows any real interest in this board. One of the users listed for having a birthday today is an excellent example.
