Help with engine id

The full picture was blocked out. Any idea what the full picture looks like? That may help ID it.

Hi again & tks for the info & data.

The pics shows the poss engine itself. Everything else around it are weeds & tall grass. I may get a better angle of it in a few days plus some Id engine tags.

The Allison V-1710 is not far -off but what angle is it?? front/back/profile?? Does it look like an engine to you guys??

Engine ID/A& P Folks:

Initially, its was ID by the exploring/finding crew as one of the engines of a Ford Trimotor that crashed c. 1934 at Tgu, Honduras. A poss Wright J-5 220HP type sample. By looking at the pic, ..I have the feeling that may have found something else!!

We hope to see other angles & at least an engine tag picture which was omitted fm posting for a positive Id.

As Fouga guessed, a turbo or my guess is a supercharger assembly at the back of an engine. Could you possibly make the subject photo smaller so we could see the detail even less?

Zorro, now that you mention, it does look like a radial lying face-down. What we're mostly seeing is the dishpan, and the rusty ring would be part of the engine mount.

Hi! Tks for the info & data!! I did look to a restoration video of a Wright J-5 200 + HP engine on line & this one looks a bit different. I know they were many types with diff HP!

p.s I'm waiting for other pics or better angles. This pic shows something that looks like an engine tag at the 2:00 0'clock position. So far this is the best pic available.

I'm looking through the Aviation Safety Network's listings; there are six Tri-Motor accidents listed in Honduras. Two were in Tegucigalpa, but in 1939 and 1944:

Hi! Tkx for the info & data. They show mostly P/W engines.

The sample for March 5, 1934 was according to a local picture USA Reg NC-7120, To Morgan Airlines. vs XH-TAN of TACA. According to ASN data.

The dates & reg are not a very reliable source sometimes. Tks anyway!!

Looks to be either a 7 or 14-cylinder engine.
