This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

The tricky thing is not tossing around legislative items among the membership, which seems to happen on the board.

As long as the legislative discussion is used for positive progress as it relates to Warbird issues who cares ? This is one more group that could lend weight to other groups causes.

This tactic was used to positive effect when the different organizations lobbied to kill the Demil provisions.

NRA,Collings Foundation, CAF, EAA, Military Vehicle Association, Ropkey Armor Museum as well as the one in Virginia, and the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation all worked together to kill that provision,...three times ! Congress listens to numbers, especially when someone makes a coherent case.

Rob:

I have some documentation left, from when we were incorporating LAAHS as a 501.3c, if you want, I can e-mail them to you.

Trick is though, that in order to keep things simple, you should not have to file a tax return, and this means keeping your operations below the $4 or 5,000 dollar a year, I believe.

Rob,

First form a nonprofit corporation ($125 in Ohio) with all associated paper work, then file your 501(c)3 application with the IRS. Keep in mind that all corporations have state specific rules and the rules here in Ohio may be diffrent from those in Mass. I would assume that WRG would need to be a Mass corporation as that is Scott's situs. I'm also not quite sure that the IRS would consider a website alone to be an educational entity under 501(c)3, but I've never really reseached the issue.

As for politics, the rules are:

"In addition, it may not attempt to influence legislation as a substantial part of its activities and it may not participate at all in campaign activity for or against political candidates."

I'm getting there. Just got about 430 hours to do and gotta unass a project and buy a place in another state. Other than that, I'm cool, thanks for thinking of me! Got some pics?

That would be the perfect WIX aircraft though!

(Off Topic, Are there a couple three T28's up there that you know the owners or have access to? I'm going to do a T28 kinda thing this year, down here at least, and if I could do it up there for a few days too, it'd be a good excuse to go home (Portland) for a few days this summer. PM me if you're interested. Thanks jcw.)
