In one of my latest searches I found this photo of a NAS Grosse Ile FG-1D BuNo.92480 #84 dated 1952 at Grosse Ile, Michigan. Dad has this Corsair listed in his logbook several times. No way to tell if that's dad in the cockpit in this shot though. Kind of cool to find these old photos from time to time.
I found these photos for sale on ebay. Looks to have been two Corsairs landing too close in intervals and one (#5) running up and crunching the other (#18) from behind.

Agreed on that last shot! Looking closely, I can just make out the difference between the insignia blue on the stars & bars and the glossy sea blue paint scheme. Richard
