Determine studs on Bendix Direct Cranking electric starter

Fri Oct 13, 2017 9:37 am

We are a group that restore vintage aircraft. On our WWII Warbird Harward T6 we want to install 24 Volt system.
We have and Bendix Direct Cranking Electric Type E-80 Model 756-1-22, starter with two studs.

According to wiring diagram, one stud is for energizing and the second named mesh provide's power for induction vibrator in Ignition system.
As the swtuds are nor marked and we miss the starter's manual, we cannot determine the correct connection of the wires.
Please help us.
We appreciate quick reply.

Hello dear members!
The link for the overhaul manual downloading, leads to the web that i visit before i write the post.
The want $18 for download the manual. Due to no information if this manual will help as, we decided not to pay and not to download.
We found in IDF airforce Museum junk jard a verry old starter that looks like our starter (whit two studs). We dismounted the old starter and lerned how he works.
As all DC starters this is a series field motor, thus the poliarity doesnt mind and both studs are for electrical dc power connection. One for possitive and the second for negative.Possitive is to the field fonds, the negative is to the armature thorough brushes.
Please inform how can i insert photos or PDF file in the message body.

The problem solved and item closed.
