This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Okay my fellow WIX members. Lets settle this once and for all. A military helicopter that survives military service (our basic definition of warbird) is what? Is it a Warbird or does it fall under/deserve a separate definition? If a new definition, what would that be?

I'm not sure it needs a separate category.
I'd like to think if someone here writes "H-13E" (the warbird I flew...see photo) or AH-1G, that people here would know it's a helicopter.

No new category needed. As per the descriptor "aircraft that have survived military service" would include helicopters (or blimps, etc.) A helicopter is an aircraft.

My vote is for “Warlybird” as they used to be called whirlybird.

Not according to some pilots I know. They say a helicopters is a collection of parts rotating around an oil leak, waitiing for metal fatigue to set in
