Ah yes... another Saturday at Chino....

Just for grins, I thought I'd mention a bit about the activities at Chino on Saturday. Being the first Saturday of the month, the Planes of Fame had their monthly event which included a lecture about aviation in the movies followed by a demo flight of a P-51, Spam Can followed by a flying demo of a P-40. Then another flight of the mustang and the P-40.... hmmm, then a B-17 shows up shooting approaches and doing pattern work; then a DC-3 gets in the pattern and an A-26 came over and flew around. Pretty cool!

I spent a week there in late 2000 flying Bell 47s with Zemlock Helicopter Service....and while I was waiting to fly I wondered around and had a great look at the Nichols Collection, Aero Trader's back lot and most of all, The Air Museum. A volunteer was happy to show me around and even introduced me to Steve Hinton...who was very nice.

Yes, there is no place else like Chino...though Duxford comes close (But I've never seen people as friendly there as Chino...sorry Brits.)

Hey Tom, thought I saw an A-26 fly over at about 3,000 feet. Was that the one? Any idea whose?
