That's not the complete story. You still must have a flight check every other 6 month period. Example: January 1, you have a tabletop check, July 1, you must have a flight check.

Perhaps my initial expression of mirth was premature.
For the benefit of the uneducated, are you comfortable with weighing in further on the pros and cons of the FAA's move on this?
