The NASM Udvar-Hazy Center will be hosting a Centennial event for the RAF on April 15.
The event features STEM activities, performances by the RAF Band and Drill Team and panel discussions by current RAF Officers and veterans.
The outside activities include the static display of a growing number of British types for the day that include...

Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX- Collings Foundation
Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XVIII- Lawrence Classics

Boeing PT-17 Stearman
DeHavilland Chipmunk
DeHavilland Tiger Moth
Boeing P-8 Poseidon
This will be a opportunity to see aircraft that rarely visit the area or even the east coast!
The Sunday event will be followed by a Fly over the the USAF Memorial in Arlington the following day.

I'm very pleased to see so much going on over in the US to commemorate the RAF's Centenary (this event and Oshkosh), it's a touching gesture and something that breathes life into "the special relationship".
As for the Stearman, it's a great choice. Thousands of British pilots were trained in the US during WWII and the Stearman was of course the backbone of Primary Training.

We're making an effort to attend as well with our ex-RAF Harvard Mk II AJ583. We're still installing her new engine, so hopefully she's ready to go by then

The Stearman is a perfectly valid choice. Mine here in Australia spent it's entire wartime service training RAF and RN pilots.
