This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I think I saw one of these fly at an airshow in Parkersburg WV 8-10 years ago. I believe it was based in Ohio.

A few were imported years ago as jet warbirds ("Gee, near P-51 performance at a fraction of the cost"... but likely not taking into account the long term realities of operating an old foreign jet) along with various MB-326, L-29s, T-11s and the like.
I believe several of the lower cost examples are parked...whether due to cost, service difficulties, spares or whatever. Perhaps the original purchasers just got bored with them.
They're rather like various early MiGs that litter ramps. A local guy had one, flew it sparingly before donating it to a local museum....who I believe doesn't quite know what to do with it.

The Experimental Exhibition category really wrecks the utility of these airplanes. I imagine people bore holes in the sky with them for a while and quickly get bored because they can't even take them for a $1000 hamburger.

World Heritage Air Museum has two Saetas. One is airworthy, but I'm not sure how often it flies.

There was one at the Garber Facility at NASM, if this is still there. They may want to deaccess this.
The story I heard was that this came from the Egyptians. NASM was expecting a MiG-15 but opened the crate and there it was: an HA-200 Saeta.
