Looking for anyone that has any WW2 Fairchild parts with inspection inked stamps. I need to find a couple more stamps that I can get photos of, to replicate for my restoration. So far, I have found exactly one Bellanca ink stamp on the parts that I have. I do have a couple of impact stamps for the castings and machined parts already. but need some Fairchild inked examples.

OK, what I did was, to go over the parts photos I have, and selected 22 pictures with either a part number on them, and very few, with numeric stamps on them.

Cvairwerks - I sent your request to a friend who volunteers with the CAF WI wing (who sort of specialize in the PT-26) and got this response from a friend of hers whom I do not know:

I have a selection of Fairchild parts and large selection of inspection stamps in general.

The Fairchild inspection stamp is oval shape with an inspector number. Most are found with blue or black ink. Two dimension sizes across the long axis. 3/4" and 3/8" approx. from memory.

If he is restoring a PT, he will find "AN" stamps as well. If his airplane is a "Fleet built", Fairchild PT then the markings are different but can provide. Barry Brothers also build sub assembly's for the Fleet built aircraft.

Part numbers use a unique font, which I have found and can provide info on where to buy. I have a source for the correct quality ink that was used, in colors red, black, blue and white.

Cool Chris, hook me up when you can. I've got the AN acceptance impact stamp stuff, as in having the specifications sheet for the layout, font, ect in my specifications file. The Fairchild ink stamp info would be of great help. I'd like to compare the part number font he has to what I have, as I suspect they might be different based on whom was doing the manufacturing for them at the time. I've only found one part with the Bellanca stamp so far, but haven't had time to search more than the one rudder right now.

The thing that throws everyone for a loop, is that mine is a Bellanca built AT and is kind of the bastard stepchild for finding info. At least it's not a McDonnell built airplane, as they were even more rare The normal reaction I get when talking to people is "HUH?????"
