Warbirds/Military Aircraft at Battle Creek Field of Flight

Mon Jul 02, 2018 11:55 am

Braved the heat and went to the Battle Creek Field of Flight airshow in Battle Creek, MI Sunday. Hot temperatures, but a nice breeze and the fact that the airshow allowed coolers to be brought in kept things from getting unbearable.

This show was a departure from the normally civilian-heavy lineups at Battle Creek. Notable performers included the CAF Prowlers of the Pacific act (SB2C, SBD, FG-1D and Kate replica), Canadian Harvard Aerobatic Team, Class of '45 with Scott Yoak in the P-51 and Jim Tobul in the F4U-4, Jerry Conley's DeHavilland Vampire demo, Susan Dacy's Super Stearman, US Navy F-18F Super Hornet and Legacy Flight with F4U-4, USMC V-22 Osprey demo, and the A-10 Thunderbolt II Demo and Heritage Flight with Charles Hainline in the P-51.

A few pics.

That sounds like a really good airshow.

I see that the F4U, SBD and SB2C have kept the Japanese fleet off Lake Michigan.

Well done!
