Catalina G-PBYA Miss Pick Up 75 today

Sat Oct 27, 2018 7:10 am

The Duxford, UK-based Catalina G-PBYA, known as Miss Pick Up, celebrates her 75th birthday today. Actually built as a Canso A for the Royal Canadian Air Force, we do not know her first flight date so her 'birthday' is marked on the earliest date we have, namely the date she was accepted by the Royal Canadian Air Force's Western Air Command from the manufacturer Canadian Vickers Ltd.

In her 75th year she has been very busy flying at airshows all over Europe - the UK, Ireland, France, Denmark, Norway, Poland and even as far afield as Turkey! Here's to her 100th birthday!!

David: First flight typically happens between 5 and 10 days prior to DD-250 of an aircraft. FMS acceptance can be as short as same day, or as far down the road as physical delivery to the FMS customer. It varies by contract language.
